Child Protection and the Counsellor / Psychotherapist

Introductory Level 

Mandatory reporting of Child Sexual Abuse is being introduced to Ireland. 

This course aims to:

  • Provide clear information to counsellors and psychotherapists working with adult survivors of child sexual abuse regarding their legal obligations to report retrospective allegations.
  • Explore strategies to manage the impact on the therapeutic relationship.

The course is participative and experiential and includes presentations, small group work and role plays. Extensive hand-outs are provided.
