An Introduction to Dialectical Behaviour Therapy

 

Presenter: Dr. Daniel Flynn & Dr. Mary Kells. 

Dr. Daniel Flynn is a Clinical Psychologist and Prinicpal Pychology Manager co-ordinating Adul & Child/Adolescent Mental Health Services in Cork. He completed his training in DBT in 2011 and thereafter developed the Endeavour Programme which continues to be delivered in the Cork Region. Daniel, secured funding from the National Office for Suicide Prevention to roll out a National DBT implementation Project. To date this project has trained 24 DBT Teams in Adult & Child/Adolescent Mental Health Services in Ireland. Daniel is an accredited DBT therapist via the Society of DBT, UK & Ireland. Dr. Mary Kells is a Clinical Psychologist working in the North Lee Mental Health Area. She is an accredited DBT Practitioner.

Outline: Introduction to the concept of personality disorder Orientation to DBT, Overview of Borderline Personality Disorder, Pre-treatment and planning therapy, Group skill training, individual therapy.

 

Training Level: All.

CPD certificates will be emailed to participants after attendance at the Workshop.
