Professional Knowledge Seminar presented by John C. Norcross, Ph.D., ABPP

Psychotherapy Integration:How it Improves Outcomes.

INTRODUCTION
This workshop will explicate the converging reasons for the rise of psychotherapy integration and review its four pathways - theoretical integration, technical eclecticism, common factors, assimilative integration. Throughout the day John Norcross will outline and practice how each pathway improves client health and happiness – the treatment outcomes.

COURSE CONTENT
During the workshop you will review the meta-analytic research and clinical practices on
(1) effective elements of the therapy relationship (common factors),
(2) effective methods of adapting that relationship to the individual patient (technical eclecticism), and
(3) effective therapies that combine multiple therapies (theoretical integration).
We conclude with future directions for psychotherapy, which will invariably prove integrative and that the purpose of integration is to improve psychotherapy effectiveness.

WHO SHOULD APPLY
This course will be of interest to therapists, mental health professionals and students who are interested in learning more about the subject area.
