Course Information:
When we think of addiction, we usually think of alcohol and other addictive substances. However, certain behaviours are also potentially addictive, and are equally of concern nowadays, especially because of the way they can be facilitated by the internet.
Social media are a relatively new concern, as is gaming, and both will be discussed in this seminar.
But other behavioural addictions which we will look at are a much older part of human experience, though they have been given a new lease of life by the internet; for example, shopping, gambling, work, and of course porn and other types of sexual stimulation.
Please note that the training includes 2 modules. Module One (Video 1) will focus on understanding of the addictive behaviour and Module Two (Video 2) will focus on review of the therapeutic tools that might be helpful in working with these addictions.
