Presenters Bio: 

Barry is a qualified Mindfulness facilitator and holds an MSc in Mindfulness Based Interventions from UCD. Along with his MSc he has trained with some of the leading teachers in the field of Mindfulness.

He is a Senior teacher and core team member of the faculty in the Dept of Psychology in UCD delivering the Masters in Mindfulness Based Interventions. He has delivered Mindfulness Based programmes in many different settings including public, community, addiction residential & aftercare groups and prison aftercare.

He is a member of the Mindfulness Teachers Association of Ireland and co-chairs the Social Inclusion Committee. He is the founder of the Irish Recovery Walk and sat on the board of the Recovery Academy of Ireland for many years. Barry is the lead author on the RecoverMe programme and co-author of the Reduce the Use programmes, he has also held senior positions in different organisations in both public and private sector. He currently works as a therapist in private practice and with the Oasis Counselling service, where he does 1:1 counselling, delivering workshops and delivers 8-week Mindfulness Based Stress Programmes.
