Dr Rita Glover has extensive experience in the fields of supervision and psychotherapy as Chair of the Professional Diploma in Clinical Supervision and as an Assistant Professor in Psychotherapy on the MSc in Psychotherapy and the Doctorate in Psychotherapy programmes in Dublin City University. Dr Glover is an accredited supervisor and an accredited psychotherapist.
She provides individual, shared and group supervision to pre-accredited, accredited counsellors and psychotherapists and provides supervision consultation to supervisors. Dr Glover's specialist lecturing, training consultancy and research interests (nationally and internationally) include psychotherapeutic supervision, integrative psychotherapy, individual and couple therapy and psychosexual therapeutic practice.
This online workshop aims to provide an opportunity for counsellors and psychotherapists to consider how to get the best out of supervision by considering how they prepare for and engage in supervision. During the workshop participants develop understanding of the central elements of supervision and reflect on how to form and maintain effective supervisory relationships, identify, and overcome barriers to engaging in supervision and articulate supervisory needs. the workshop will consider how best to present cases in supervision, describe theories, skills and interventions utilised in practice and effectively respond to supervisory feedback on case management.
