Paula , grew up in Finglas, Dublin and began teaching in St. Kevin's College, Ballygall in 1995. She developed a workshop called 'Don't Be Mean Behind Your Screen' around 11yrs ago, it was part of her own teaching plan for ‘CSPE’ and ‘SPHE’ to specifically address the Issue of Internet Safety and Cyberbullying among young people.
This area is fast becoming a huge concern for Paula, both as a teacher but more importantly, on a personal level, as the parent of 3 young girls. Paula has experienced living with a child who has been targeted online. She has witnessed first-hand the devastating and lasting effects this cruel and nasty cycle of behaviour had and continues to have many years later. So, hence Paula's decision in 2014 to leave her teaching position and return to education to study for my BSc Level 8 degree, in Counselling and Psychotherapy with IICP, Dublin. Following on from there in Sept this year (2023), Paula has been enrolled to continue her studies, undertaking her MSc in Adolescent Psychotherapy with DCTC, Dublin, which she envisages will enable her to continue to support young people and their families with challenges that may present for them.
Paula developed this workshop, ‘Don’t be Mean Behind Your Screen’, Internet Safety/Cyberbullying 11years ago. Paula will present this workshop, and then invite discusion from the attendees.
CPD Certs will be emailed to participants after attendance at the Event
