Presenters Bios:

Ursula is a  fully accredited Integrative Psychotherapist.  Level 8 and 9, Research Dissertation Practicum Module Leader/Lecturer
Research Dissertation Supervisor.24 years of teaching experience & a member of the West/Northwest Regional IACP Committee.  


Peter is a Pre-accredited Integrative Psychotherapist, Pre-accredited Integrative Psychotherapist- Lecturer in research dissertation psychotherapy- Research dissertation supervisor in psychotherapy, psychology, business, and teaching – 4 years’ experience in both individual and group format & Vice Chair of the West, Northwest Regional Committee IACP.


Event Outline:

The aim of the event is to provide students with a comprehensive overview, structure, and guideline for approaching each stage of the dissertation process, from initial participant recruitment, data collection, data analysis, recommendations, data dissemination, and overall document write-up. It will focus on the abstract, introduction, literature review, and methodology, with a follow up additional workshop in time on the findings/results, discussion, recommendations and conclusion, with the goal of providing insight into the expectations for each.

Given the expertise and experience of the facilitators the event will primarily focus on the qualitative methodology (thematic analysis and IPA) with some reference to quantitative methodologies (data collection and analysis). The discussions on the introduction, literature review, and discussion chapters will apply to both the qualitative and quantitative approaches. By the end of the event/presentation, students will have an insight into the following:

Step-by-step chapter guide to writing your dissertation/thesis
- Introduction
- Literature Review
- Methodology
