Presenter's Bio:

Anne Dodd BA, MSc., PhD. is a Psychotherapist working in private practice, accredited by the Irish Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy and an Adjunct Assistant Professor at the School of Psychology, University College Dublin. Grief and the grieving process is her principal area of clinical interest and research. She completed the advanced training in Complicated Grief Therapy through Columbia University in 2014. She has extensive experience in the delivery of workshops on grief and bereavement and her research has appeared in various journals such as Death Studies, Journal of Affective Disorders, Counselling Psychology Quarterly, Patient Education and Counselling and the Journal of Loss and Trauma.


Event Outline: 

The aim of the workshop is to enhance counsellors’ grief knowledge and practice. It is designed to be partly experiential in nature, with some opportuning for discussion and small group work. Participants will be introduced to an evidence-based approach, Prolonged Grief Disorder Treatment (PGDT), for working with people who are stuck in their grief.
