Presenters Bios:

Jim first trained as a youth worker in 1975 and then as a counsellor in 1979 for couples and groups dealing with alcohol addiction. In 1981 he set up a youth supportgroup for young people directly effected by the Stardust Fire Disaster. He spent 22 years as an advocate and life skills teacher with Youthreach, the state agency for second chance education before retiring in that role in 2021. His further educational training included a diploma in counselling (Maynooth NUI) and an honours degree in counselling and psychotherapy (DBS). Jim has a private practice in counselling, psychotherapy and educational training with a focus on relationships, addiction, care-awareness, and LGBTQI+ issues.  His keynote speaker portfolio includes IACP, Belong To LGBTQI+ Youth Services, Crosscare, SOAR, Insight Matters and The Irish Defence Forces. He is a former editor, broadcast journalist and media lecturer.


Dr. Manish Tomar graduated with a Ph.D. in Neuroscience as a scholarship student at Cologne University,
Germany in 2020. He has a Masters in Neuroscience from Jiwali University, Gwalior, India and a BA in Biotechnology from Amity University, Uttar Pradesh, India. Manish is a native of New Delhi, India and is a scientist, working in Ireland. His specialist areas include immunochemistry, bioassays, molecular biology, microbiology and genetics. He has been involved with multiple agencies across both internet media platforms and in situ presentations for the advancement of scientific community outreach programmes including coordinating facilitator and speaker at the United Nations Conference of Youth for Climate Change at the COY Conference in Bonn, Germany in 2017. He is an advocate and practitioner of yoga and meditation.


Robert graduated with first class honours in Integrative Counselling & Psychotherapy from IICP in 2020. He chose to specialise in CPTSD after learning about the Adverse Childhood Experiences Study (1999) which demonstrated that chronic stress effects us biologically just as impactfully as psychologically. This prompted his ongoing interest in the neurology of counselling.Hefocuses his practice with ongoing training and research towards Post Traumatic Stress Disorder andComplex PTSD. He works in private practice and with the Dundalk Counselling service and specialises in
the adult manifestation of CPTSD and PTSD.
