In Person - MRC An Exploration of Equine Assisted Psychotherapy - The Eagala Model


Presenters Bios:

Louise is a qualified and accredited psychotherapist in private practice since 2003 and supervisor since 2013. She is the founder and Director of Westmeath Counselling Service.


Caitriona is a secondary school teacher and guidance counsellor. She is a member of the IGC and the teaching council. She is an equine specialist with a background in Natural Horsemanship. She is the current Network coordinator for the Irish network of Eagala, a global standard in Equine Assisted Psychotherapy.


Event Outline:

Participants will gain an understanding of the Core Principles of the Eagala Model and the roles of the Equine Specialist, Mental Health Professional, and the horses as active participants in the process. Participants will gain an appreciation of the Role of Horses in Psychotherapy and awareness of the Therapeutic Benefits of Equine-Assisted Psychotherapy.

The day will encompass Experiential Learning Through Demonstration and Practice.


CPD Certs will be emailed to participants after attendance at the Event
