Beyond phases stages and tasks -working with newer theories on grief in the therapeutic space
The workshop will take place on October 13th, 2018 in Avila Centre, Bloomfield Avenue, Donnybrook, Dublin 4.
Main focus of the session will be drawing on participants’ experience of working with grief and loss to help to identify and integrate theory. This will include an exercise on identifying grieving styles using the Grief Pattern Inventory (Doka & Martin, 2000) as well as information to aid the therapist to determine whether their client(s) is/are at risk of developing a disorder as their grief trajectory may have become derailed.

The fee is €100 and closing date for receipt of applications is Wednesday 3 October 2018. The fee does not include lunch but tea and coffee will be provided at the appropriate breaks. Handouts will be provided in paper format and/or by email.Presenter bio:
Lisa O'Hara
As a graduate from RCSI with an MSc in Bereavement Studies, Lisa works with clients who are struggling to come to terms with loss that can range from bereavement (including infant loss), separation and divorce, illness, job and role loss, through to ageing and retirement, etc. As an experienced therapist, she has also created and delivered training & development programmes for both professionals and the public.
She has a particular interest in grief and loss which is arguably the cornerstone of all therapy and has already delivered/facilitated workshops with therapists on the subject in 2017.
A regular media contributor, Lisa is the author of ‘When A Relationship Ends – Surviving the Emotional Rollercoaster of Separation’ (Orpen Press) that addresses the fallout of separation and provides a useful guide for picking up the pieces and moving on.
CANCELLATION POLICY
Full refunds (minus a €25 processing fee) will be made for cancellations made prior to Friday 21 September 2018. There will be no refunds made for cancellations after that date. In the event of the workshop being cancelled by the organisers, a full refund will be issued.
