Present a Network Evening with Guest Speaker Sarah Toye Suicide Crisis Assessment Nurse (SCAN)

 

Presenters Bio: Sarah is a Suicide Crisis Assessment Nurse (SCAN) and has been sussessfully providing this new service via General Practioners thoughout Donegal for the last four years.  Sarah also meets and presents to at risk groups in the community providing quick identification and early access for people in suicidal crisis.

Outline: Assessing suicide and self harm risk in our clients is a key conponent in our counselling and psychotherapy work. In this one hour prenetation Sarah will provide us with an insight into the indepth interviews that are part of her work and the pathway available to access the service when required.  This will open up the discussion on supporting both clients and practioners in assessing risk.
