Course Information:

Please note this is CPD for IACP Supervisors presented by Dr Karen Ward, IACP Supervisor Member.

This presentation will highlight the often unspoken element of the art and science of Supervision – the role of Gatekeeper.

Some of us are faced with new trainees who do not yet understand the importance of this aspect and misunderstand the significance. For many when Supervision is a good match, all flows smoothly and therefore we do not have to exercise many of the skills we have been taught in our Supervision Course so this online presentation will revisit these competencies in a CPD mode.

During the presentation, together we will honestly and wisely look at the honour, the implications and ultimately the responsibilities of this noble profession in relation to trainees, those seeking accreditation and our longtime supervisees including peer work.
