Barbara O'Neill Completed a 3-year Counselling Dip course In 1998. She continued to train and gain qualifications, that included, Motivational Interviewing, Solution Focused Therapy, CRA Therapist, DBT Professional Certificate, SMART Recovery Facilitator, Janus Solutions approach and going on to become a trainer for Janus Solutions.
While training, she continued to work in social service for children and families in organisations such as the ISPCC and YMCA and
gained a further qualification including a BA applied Addiction Studies in 2009. She went on to work in several Addiction services including, residentials for men and women.
She went on to Setting up a new Transitional house and a Community Day Service, Drug Rehab CE Scheme and is now working for the North Dublin Regional Drug & Alcohol Task Force as the Client Service Coordinator, Managing a Community service, and has been for the past 5 years continuing to Development and implementation training services in applied addiction studies for 3rd Level student, community groups and professionals.
The content of this workshop will include some new and innovative approaches that will help refocus and give a new perspective on the Clients relationship with problematic Drug and Alcohol use. Also, Tools that will help in a therapeutic setting for the Client with Addiction.Explore ways for Therapists to work with a client that presents unaware of their addiction to drugs, Alcohol or Tables. Or when the therapist is unclear if there are addiction issues
Learning / teaching methods that will be used e.g. lectures, workshops, tutorials etc.
CPD Certs will be emailed to participants after attendance after the completion of the 2 parts of the Event
