In Person - WRC Internal Family Systems (IFS)
Presenter's Bio:
Marie is a Certified IFS Therapist, Approved Clinical Consultant and Lead Trainer with the IFS Institute.
Event Outline:
This one day workshop will introduce you to the theory and practice of Internal Family Systems (IFS) which is a model of therapy that has been developed by Dr. Richard C. Schwartz over the past 40 years. It is a model which sees people as a system of parts that are interacting with each other internally, often outside of awareness. IFS believes that Self ts a natural leader for the internal system and parts but, as a result of trauma or suffering throughout our lives, the parts have lost access to the Self and many of them have taken on a variety of protective roles with the intention of helping us to survive and get through life.
IFS believes our inner parts contain valuable qualities and our core Self knows how to heal. When our inner parts and Self work together in Self-leadership, Self can effectively lead and heal the system internally and externally, which impacts our behaviours, relationships and lives, allowing us to become more integrated and whole. In IFS all parts are welcome.
There will be practical exercises to explore the model for yourself and a live demonstration of an IFS session with a volunteer from the group. We will look at ways in which you can use and apply IFS in your client work.
This workshop is suitable for professionals e.g. counsellors, psychotherapists, psychologists, mental health and wellbeing professionals who are curious about IFS and who want to learn more about it and how it can benefit themselves and their clients.
CPD Certs will be emailed to participants after attendance at the Event
