The IACP is dedicated to promoting the safety, well-being, and protection of all individuals who engage with our accredited Counsellors and Psychotherapists. As part of our commitment to safeguarding, IACP operates a comprehensive Garda Vetting process for all relevant members.
As a ‘Relevant Organisation’ under the Garda Vetting legislation, accredited and pre-accredited are required to undergo Garda Vetting as a condition of membership and ongoing accreditation.
To ensure ongoing safeguarding, all members will be re-vetted every three years, aligning with the forthcoming reforms to the National Vetting Bureau (Children and Vulnerable Persons) Acts 2012-2016.
The IACP is actively working to facilitate a smooth and timely re-vetting process for all members. Due to the high volume of members requiring re-vetting, it may take some time for the IACP to contact each individual to initiate the process.
Members are advised that their current Garda Vetting remains valid until they receive an invitation from the IACP to begin re-vetting.
