Event Outline:
Creativity is a powerful tool for therapists, fostering deeper connections, flexibility, and fresh perspectives in clinical work. This interactive six-hour workshop blends expressive writing and improv comedy to help therapists tap into their creative instincts, enhance client engagement, and explore new therapeutic techniques.
Through guided writing exercises, participants will uncover personal insights, reframe narratives, and harness metaphor as a therapeutic tool. Improv-based activities will encourage spontaneity, emotional agility, and deeper attunement to clients. Exercises such as "Yes, And" storytelling, and status role reversals, will develop skills in active listening, adaptability, and intuitive communication.
Therapists will also engage in role-playing scenarios to experience client perspectives and practice creative problem-solving. The session concludes with an integration discussion, encouraging participants develop a personalized creativity toolkit for their practice.
This workshop is ideal for therapists seeking fresh approaches to engage clients, cultivate resilience, and bring playfulness into the therapeutic space. No prior experience in writing or improv is required—just an open mind and a willingness to explore! Participants will leave with practical exercises, a creativity workbook, and renewed inspiration for their work.
CPD Certs will be emailed to participants after attendance
