Practitioner Certificate: Responding Therapeutically to Child Sexual Abuse#
This 9-day intensive course is designed for mental health professionals seeking to expand their skills in working with individual clients, and their family members, where child sexual abuse has been suspected or confirmed.
It will address clinical considerations in working therapeutically with children and families who have experienced CSA and children who exhibit sexually harmful behaviour.
Participants will explore relevant myths and facts, dynamics of CSA, and develop an empathic understanding of the personal experience of all family members dealing with this issue.
Participants will develop skills in empowering non-abusing family members to secure safety for any vulnerable children.
Participants will consider the boundaries appropriate to their professional role and will identify appropriate self-care strategies.
