In Person - SERC Grief and prolonged grief disorder
Presenter's Bio:
Anne BA, MEd., MSc., PhD. is a Psychotherapist working in private practice, accredited by the Irish Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy and an Adjunct Assistant Professor at the School of Psychology, University College Dublin.
Grief and the grieving process is her principal area of clinical interest and research. Her research has appeared in various journals such as Death Studies, Journal of Affective Disorders, Counselling Psychology Quarterly, Patient Education and Counselling and the Journal of Loss and Trauma.
Event Outline:
On completion of the workshop participants will be better able to:
• Describe contemporary grief models
• Distinguish between acute, integrated, and prolonged grief
• Identify both risk and protective factors in grief
• Locate and use resources for identifying complications in the grieving process
• Work more effectively with clients exhibiting complications in their grieving process
The workshop will be part power-point presentation, with room for discussion and small group work analysing case studies.
I regard all workshops as events where ‘knowledge exchange’ as opposed to ‘knowledge transfer’ is facilitated.
CPD Certs will be emailed to participants after attendance
The Zoom Link and Password for the event will be sent at least a day or two in advance
