Event Outline:
What if the love your clients are building is stabilising their relationship but eroding the partners' desire, agency, and vitality? In clinical practice, we’re trained to deepen emotional expression, increase attunement, and build safety. But what happens when more connection doesn’t lead to more relational capacity? This full-day workshop introduces a powerful clinical distinction between symbolic intimacy and functional intimacy—helping you identify when love regulates distress and when it truly revitalises a relationship.
You’ll learn to help your client to recognise pseudo-connection, over-functioning as care, and the subtle dynamics that leave couples feeling safe but relationally flat. More importantly, you’ll leave with precise language, diagnostic clarity, and session-ready interventions to help your client to restore balance, agency, and desire in relationship. Because not all intimacy creates a strong relationship, and your clients can feel the difference.
CPD Certs will be emailed to participants after attendance.
