In Person - DRC When nothing 'Bad' happened: Working with minimised Trauma
Presenter's Bio:
Gavin is a psychotherapist in private practice specialising in EMDR and trauma recovery. His work focuses on attachment wounds, developmental and medical trauma, shame, and the ways early experiences shape the nervous system and sense of self.
He is currently working on a book which explores how small ‘t’ traumas and disturbing experiences can often get minimised or misunderstood, integrating personal narrative and clinical insight. Gavin is passionate about helping clinicians and clients understand how trauma lives in the body, and how meaningful, lasting healing is possible.
Event Outline:
This is a reflective, experiential workshop exploring the impact of early experiences that are often dismissed, minimised, or reframed as “not that bad.” Drawing on personal narrative, clinical insight, and trauma-informed understanding, He invites participants to gently consider how early events, particularly those that were normalised or overlooked, may still live in the body.
At the heart of the workshop is a simple but powerful idea: the body remembers what the mind does not. Through guided reflection and gentle somatic awareness exercises, participants will be invited to notice where minimisation may have shaped their story, coping strategies, and nervous system responses.
CPD Certs will be emailed to participants after attendance.
