Presenter's Bio:

Mike has held the role of Senior Faculty for PCI College until 2021 and has recently joined the faculty and academic council for IICP College. He lectures on psychotherapy theory and practice at both Masters and Undergraduate level on a range of applied, pragmatic aspects of contemporary psychotherapy and supervision practice. Mike has developed short and long-form courses, CPD and workshop style training for a large number of private, public and professional bodies. He has worked as programme leader for the Advanced Diploma in Clinical Supervision with PCI College and is the co-facilitator of the Diploma in Integrative Supervision with IICP college.

This short programme will employ theory input, skills development and personal reflection on the topic of Case Formulation in psychotherapy.

Four sessions will capture the learning outcomes, and a range of pedagogical approaches including; small and large group dialogue, case formulation practice using clinical vignettes, reflective writing and lecturer led input. These methods will contribute to a highly interactive, exciting experience for participants. 

Having completed this short, half-day programme, participants will;

1. Possess a greater understanding of the role and importance of Case Formulation in therapeutic practice

2. Understand how to use various models of Case Formulation in their work with clients

3. Apply their learned skills to clinical vignettes and a multi-faceted case study to concretise newly acquired clinical tools in Case Formulation

4. Learn about the increasing need for Case Formulation in the face of ever more complex client presentation
