Presenter's Bio:
Erin is a counsellor and social worker with 10 years of experience supporting people with problematic substance use She began in Pittsburgh, USA as a counsellor and, later, clinical supervisor experiencing for Western Behavioural Health's Centre for Psychiatric and Chemical Dependency Services. providing psychotherapeutic care to people mental health and substance-related Coolmines’ problems. Having co-occurring completed advanced training and supervision in motivational interviewing and Dialectical Behaviour Therapy, she has also facilitated trainings and lectures on range of topics related to integrated dual diagnosis care. Erin now serves as the Team Leader for Kerry and North Cork services. Erin holds a bachelor’s degree in psychology and Anthropology, master’s degree in social work and postgraduate certificate in Mental Health from the University of Pittsburgh. Currently, Erin Is completing MSc In Pluralistic Counselling and Psychotherapy at llCP in Dublin, with anticipated completion in 2026. In addition to her work with Coolmine, she also provides equine-assisted psychotherapy.
Event Outline:
This presentation will introduce participants to Coolmine TC's residential community-based Drug and Alcohol services. The faciltator will
provide a brief introduction to the organisation's history and recent developments in the southwestregion. Participants will become familiar
with the therapeutic approaches used by Coolmine to support individuals and their families, including the therapeutic community,Community Reinforcement Approach, motivation interiewing, and Parenting Under Pressure. Attention will also be paid to how Coolmine facilitates individualised care and supports the devetopment of recovery.
