Speaker's Bio:
Jayne is an integrative psychotherapist (MIACP) and nutritional therapist (MFNTP), and a PhD researcher in nutritional psychiatry. She has published on nutritional psychiatry in the Irish Journal of Counselling and Psychotherapy (IJCP), Nutritional Psychiatry, and Counselling and Psychotherapy Research, and serves as Editor-in-Chief of the IJCP. This talk draws directly from her research and clinical practice.
Event Outline:
This talk offers an introduction to the relationship between food, mood, and mental health, including evidence-based insights for therapeutic practice. Drawing on clinical experience and nutritional psychiatry research, it will cover:
-The significant link between nutrition and mental health
- Food-related issues that commonly emerge in therapy sessions
- An overview of how therapists can begin to work ethically and confidently with food and nutrition in the therapy room
Delivered online as a structured talk with time for questions and discussion, this session is suitable for mental health professionals across modalities and experience levels.
