Home Insurance vs Professional Insurance [28/03/2019]

It has recently been brought to our attention a possible difficulty our members may face when running their business from a home address. We would advise Members who are using their home address for their practice to be wary of the small print that accompanies their home and professional insurance. It is advisable to make your insurance company aware when you are running a business on your home premises because failure to do so could result in you receiving a penalty for “failure to disclose” in the event of a claim. Furthermore a failure to disclose could possibly result in your policy to become void and for you to be banned from receiving home insurance from any other provider.
